Delta City has a presence on Facebook and on Twitter as another means to rapidly disseminate information to an increasingly connected world.
We have linked our accounts so that when we share information on Facebook, it also appears momentarily thereafter in our Twitter feed. We feel that this will prove to be an effective and timely way to provide notification of important matters such as water line breaks, sewer system backups, electrical power interruption, leaking natural gas lines, etc., by agencies such as our own Public Works Department, CentraCom, Frontier Telephone, Questar Gas Company, Rocky Mountain Power and all other reputable entities needing to provide breaking news with the public we serve.
Facebook is a social networking service used almost every day to share information with friends, family, and business colleagues, exchange and share an unlimited number of photos, share links and videos, and simply learn more about the people they meet through this forum.
Twitter is an informational network. As of the end of 2016, Twitter is said to have over 319 million people, organizations, and businesses using it to discover and share new information. On Twitter, anyone can read, write and share messages of up to 140 characters. These messages, or tweets, are public and available to anyone interested in them. Twitter users subscribe to your messages by following your account. Followers receive every one of your messages in their timeline, a feed of all the accounts they have subscribed to. When you combine messages that are quick to write, easy to read, public, opt-in, and accessible anywhere, you have a powerful, real-time way of communicating.
